HOW WE HELP

Clean Water

Without access to clean water, no other effort to reduce global risks will succeed.

As an organization made up of experienced military professionals, the humanitarian missions we’ve participated in while in uniform addressed a wide range of needs: education, housing, nutrition, and medical care.

Water Filters

We put clean water filters directly in the hands of those who need them.

The Sawyer PointOne is a highly effective water filter that can be set up in 5 minutes and requires only a 5-gallon container and filtration kit. It is simple enough that adults of any educational background can understand how to use it. No electricity and no complicated maintenance is required.

Access to clean water through simple, home-based filtration will yield almost immediate improvements in health and vitality. Healthy communities are able to work and go to school, building stronger economies and greater regional stability.

Our clean water missions aren’t compromised by power factors or accessibility issues. They serve to strengthen rather than divide communities, and they engage the recipients as full and equal participants.

Veterans can make a huge impact in water-stressed communities.

As an organization made up of experienced military professionals, the humanitarian missions we’ve participated in while in uniform addressed a wide range of needs: education, housing, nutrition, and medical care.

However, we came to understand that dirty water was undermining all our mission efforts.

Children could not attend school. Parents could not work or provide for their families. Often the individuals our doctors treated were re-infected within weeks. The suffering continued all because the community lacked access to clean water.

Women play a critical role in successful missions.

We recognize that empowered women can change the world. That is why we provide clean water filters directly to mothers of small children, who – across cultures and regions – are proven to be the cornerstones of successfully addressing the water crisis.

Through our program, a covenant is made between us and the women we train to supply water not only to their own residences but to at least two other families. This builds on an existing sense of community and increases the likelihood the solution will be accepted and utilized.

We strive to use our resources for projects that will sustain themselves once our team has left, and women are the key to ensuring the impact of our missions live on.
